A placement class is required for dancers ages 9+ that are new to Terminus Ballet School. Please submit one placement request form per dancer. After submitting this form, you will be contacted by Terminus Ballet School's Education Director who will provide days and times in which your child can attend a level appropriate class based on their dance experience and skill level.

Dance Studio ProTerminus Student Company is under the leadership of Education Director Christine Welker, former dancer with Atlanta Ballet, Ballet West, & The Sacramento Ballet. Established in 2019 as an extension of Terminus Ballet School's Professional Training Program, the company has showcased captivating works by renowned choreographers including Tara Lee, Heath Gill, Jimmy Orrante, McCree O’Kelley, Rachel Van Buskirk, Darvensky Louis, and Martha Goodman.
The Student Company has received recognition from RDA/SE for the National Choreography Award for Rachel VanBuskirk’s “The Wave Breaks” and Darvensky Louis’ “Ecclesiastes”. Each year, the company enchants sold-out audiences in Atlanta and Serenbe with their rendition of The Nutcracker Suite. Furthermore, company members actively engage with the community through their participation in Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre's rendition of Peter and the Wolf by Van Buskirk. Notably, during their inaugural appearance at the Regional Dance America (RDA) Southeast Festival, the Terminus Student Company earned the prestigious Gala status for their performance of Acceleration Waltz. This achievement was followed by their subsequent recognition as a Performing Company.
The accomplished dancers of Terminus Student Company boast impressive credentials, including consecutive titles of RDA Southeast’s Outstanding Female Senior Soloist, Junior Classical Soloist, multiple recipients of university scholarship awards, and members who have partaken in esteemed summer programs at institutions such as American Ballet Theatre, The Royal Ballet Academy, School of American Ballet, Ballet West, Boston Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Colorado Ballet, BalletX, Orlando Ballet, SALT Contemporary Dance, European School of Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet Chicago, and Texas Ballet Theater.

Upon committing to the Student Company, all dancers are required to attend all additional classes and scheduled rehearsals related to performances. Student Company rehearsals take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. In addition, students agree to attend Regional Dance America’s Southeast Festival in Spring and take part in the adjudication process that proceeds. Tights in color closest to their natural skin tone or in which they feel most comfortable. Recommended brand: Body Wrappers TOTALSTRETCH Back Seam Regular Mesh Convertible Tights or TOTALSTRETCH Back Seam Sheer Mesh Convertible Tights.
Hair must be swept back and up in a secured ballet bun. Braids and locs are accepted but should not exceed a length much lower than the shoulder. The thickness of the braids or locs should allow for a safe, secure, appropriately sized bun that does not move. Dancers with short hair must keep their hair neat, secure, and away from the face.
Canvas or leather ballet shoes in the color closest to their tights color are suggested. Recommended brands: Bloch, Eurotard, Sansha, So Danca, & Capezio
Students may wear black tights, shorts, or warm ups for contemporary class, repertoire, and rehearsal. Dancer’s clothing may not be baggy clothing that detracts from the instructor's view. Footwear will be determined by the instructor and will be communicated on the first day. Footwear may be ballet shoes, barefoot, socks, dance sneakers, or athletic shoes.
Skirts may be worn for pointe and variations class. Skirts must be above the knee line. Long skirts may be worn for rehearsals where the costume is a long skirt. PTP and Student Company dancers may wear practice tutus for variations and pas de deux class (with teacher permission), and for student rehearsals requiring a tutu.
