Terminus Student Company is under the leadership of Education Director Christine Welker, a former principal dancer, and Co-Director Rachel Van Buskirk, a Founder and Dancer of Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre. Established in 2019 as an extension of Terminus Ballet School's Professional Training Program, the company has showcased captivating works by renowned choreographers including Tara Lee, Heath Gill, Jimmy Orrante, McCree O’Kelley, Rachel Van Buskirk, and Martha Goodman.
Each year, the company enchants sold-out audiences in Atlanta and Serenbe with their rendition of The Nutcracker Suite. Furthermore, company members actively engage with the community through their participation in Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre's rendition of Peter and the Wolf by Van Buskirk. Notably, during their inaugural appearance at the Regional Dance America (RDA) Southeast Festival, the Terminus Student Company earned the prestigious Gala status for their performance of Acceleration Waltz. This achievement was followed by their subsequent recognition as a Performing Company.
The accomplished dancers of Terminus Student Company boast impressive credentials, including consecutive titles of RDA Southeast’s Outstanding Female Senior Soloist, multiple recipients of university scholarship awards, and members who have partaken in esteemed summer programs at institutions such as Ballet West, Boston Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Colorado Ballet, SALT Contemporary Dance, European School of Ballet, and Texas Ballet Theater.
